We live in the 21st century, to us it is everyday routine to use our smartphones and browse the internet on our PC. We have innumerous gadget and tools at our disposal ready to make our lives a lot easier and faster. But we shouldn't forget what has made this possible, its science.
To some it means stirring chemicals in a fancy lab and to some it means the disgusting business of disecting frogs. But science is more than that, it certainly is.
Science is what that makes us and the universe. It is the knowledge of all that is around us. Man was able to transform himself from a savage caveman to the modern man with the help of science.
Science has already gifted us with so many tools, gadgets and machines which we couldn't have imagined a couple of centuries ago. Imagine what it could present us with in the future. It wouldn't be long before our craziest science fiction movies become reality.
Who knows whats out there for us in the future? Anything is possible at the rate we are advancing in the field of science. Time travel, autonomous humanoid robots, cyborgs, DNA cloning. You name it! It could all happen. They might seem impossible right now, but we shouldn't forget that the light bulb was an impossible creation before Edison came along. Its just a matter of time before imagination turns reality.
In the past few decades we saw the developement and popularizationof various gadgets such as the television, personal computer, laptop, smartphone etcetera. We also the developements in designs of pistols, hand grenades, nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, biological weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. With such weapons being created at a steady rate, who can guarentee us a safe future?
This is the other side of science, the dangerous one. There is always a flip side to a coin. What will happen to a society where there are invincible weapons. We can only hope that our succesors are wise enough to mantain peace and order in the future.
If we could see the glimpse of the future, what would it look like? Will there be flying cars and levitating buildings, perhaps we would use space ships as common transport or would we be greeted with a world destroyed with the weapons we created? That depends on us and what we teach the youngsters. Do we teach them about the serenity of peace or the cruelty of war, that is what is going to change the future. The young generation is really the key to the to the future. The reflect what the future is going to look like.
We can say that science is an infinitely vast subject, and we've just only scratched the surface and once we get deep, its going to change everything. lets make sure that change is a good one. Lets build ourselves a better future and hope for the best.
